Alvan Duncan "Mike" Malone (1943-2006), Howard University Theatre Arts Professor, was a prolific Director and Choreographer. He mentored many artists in the entertainment industry. He also was a Co-Founder and first Artistic Director of the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington,DC. He sparked a holiday tradition when he revived Langston Hughes' "Black Nativity" in 1979 while serving as Director of Cleveland's Karamu House, one of the oldest black theaters in the USA. -
